What Is Hypnosis?
I’d like to give you an explanation of hypnosis. What it is and is not. My programs utilize guided imagery hypnosis and visualization in order to assist you in making positive change in your life.
Hypnosis is often considered a “trance” and that word has different meaning to everyone. Often, the meaning comes from a Hollywood movie. A state of hypnosis is simply a more relaxed state of being.
Your brain waves currently have 4 measurable speeds:
Beta - is your fastest, fully alert state
Alpha - a relaxed and reflecting state. You are still alert - this is your brain waves in a hypnotic state
Theta - the beginning of sleep
Delta - Sleeping.
Hypnosis is the Alpha state. We are all in all these states through our day in a 24 hour period. Alpha is common when we are reading a book, working at a computer, driving long distances or playing video games. We are focused on what we are doing, often doing it mindlessly, yet we are still alert to the things around us. When you are playing video games or watching someone play video games you can be quite engaged but you will still hear the phone ring or a crying baby.
When you are in an Alpha state, or a state of hypnosis, you are up to 200 times more suggestible. So, essentially, hypnosis gets you relaxed and makes positive suggestions to you in order to assist you in making positive changes. We have chosen to use guided imagery to relax your body and your mind to gently bring you into the hypnotic state.
Relaxation is such a wonderfully important thing. Do it whenever you can. You may find yourself in a state deeper then alpha when you use this program. You my fall asleep. That is OK. It still works!
The way hypnosis works is through you subconscious mind. Your subconscious controls many functions of your body you rarely think about like breathing. It also has the power to make changes in your life. We speak to the subconscious directly and ask it to make changes. It knows exactly how to make the changes in the very best way for you. Trust it. It makes sure you always take your next breath. It means you absolutely no harm. We actually want to let go of your conscious thought during the session and allow your subconscious to do the work. Let go of what you’ve been trying to do and allow your subconscious to simply do.
Please realize these are recordings. They are meant to make you fall into a hypnotic state. Never use them while driving or when you need to be awake and alert. You are consciously choosing to go into this state when you play them. Take the time to enjoy this part of the program. Get lost in relaxation and a story. You can use them when you go to sleep at night or take specific time out during the day to do nothing else. They will not harm your child or anyone else listening.
Hypnosis can not change your thoughts. What hypnosis can do is change your beliefs. It’s our intent to help you, through hypnosis, to believe in yourself and your ability to bring about your desired change.
It is highly recommended you devote one hour each day to your program. One of the most powerful things you can do for yourself is to take time to relax. It is one of my greatest intents through creating these program that you find your way to relax, and that you enjoy it enough to make it a daily habit.

What happens in an office visit?
When you come in to the office, I first do a thorough intake evaluation to determine the appropriate approach to meet your particular, individual needs. In this way, I can gear the hypnosis to meet your individual issues and needs, and help you fulfill your positive expectations.
Then, with your permission, I induce hypnosis without deep trance. This means that you feel very deeply relaxed, but you always remain aware of everything that is going on. In this way, you will not have problems being helped into hypnosis. You remain in control at all times, but your Conscious analytical mind takes a break and the doorway to your Subconscious feeling mind is opened with your permission.
The Subconscious part of the mind controls all of our habits and all of our physiological functions that keep us alive. With your permission, hypnosis opens the doorway to the Subconscious so that it can be provided with the right information to re-program both your conscious and subconscious beliefs and feelings about the smoking habit.
I ask that you bring with you to my office ALL of your cigarettes and smoking paraphernalia (lighters, ashtrays, cigarette cases, etc.). We get rid of all of this together here in the office. This is so you do not have any cigarettes or smoking paraphernalia around you after your session that you could possibly use as a crutch or to test yourself after you've become a nonsmoker. You will not need or want any of these things after the session anyway. You will be a non-smoker!
You will walk out of my office as a non-smoker after your Hypnosis Stop Smoking Session. It's really very simple. If you follow my instructions, want it to happen, and let it happen, it will happen.You will have no urge or desire to smoke after your session.
I send you home with 3 recordings that you listen to for at least 21 days. These recordings will help you to build your life without cigarettes. They will help re-enforce your life as a non-smoker
