That's why I have created a comprehensive guided imagery program to help children relax into being themselves and then empowering them to be the best they can be!  



Me and My Kids...
I'm a mom of 2 awesomely unique little boys.  I guess I'm still a stay at home mom in a lot of ways but I'm back to working and loving working around my kids schedules and being present and active in their lives.  They are faced with new challenges every day and I want to be there for them and help them meet their challenges.  It's my challenge.  It's a little strange sometimes because as parents we don't often think of the playground or the Lego Club as being a challenge. But for kids, they can be.  

I'm a certified clinical hypnotherapist and of course, with kids, I can't help but think of ways to use my passion for guided imagery and story telling to help kids.  This program is my latest contribution.  Talking with moms at the swimming pool or wherever we came up with a lot of great ideas and I took them and put them together.  I'm always emailing downloads to friends or slipping them CD's to play for themselves or now, for their kids.  

I've given a lot of thought to hypnosis for children and if it's ethical or not.  Like, encouraging them to drink water and eat when they are hungry and stop when they are full, or teaching them about good touch and bad touches and personal space.  We certainly talk about these things out loud and shouldn't that be enough?  Maybe, maybe not.  I realized that often, life is stressful enough and maybe they don't need constant reminders.  They need encouragement to find their ways on their own.  When I looked at it that way, it all made sense and all these sessions came together.  I hope you find they work for you too!  I hope your children find their own ways to relax and fall asleep and the courage within themselves to accomplish anything they want!:-)  
It is often said that when children are little that they are like sponges...  They absorb everything and as good parents, we try to make sure we give them everything good to absorb.  Unfortunately, sometimes we really don’t have control over everything they see and hear and eat or even feel. 

Children learn a lot by feeling... If you are scared, they can easily pick up on that.  Or, if you teach them something you believe to be right and it is contrary to what others are doing around them the messages may be confusing.  For example, if you are a religious family and many families your child interacts with are not, or even contrary to your religious beliefs it can be difficult for a child.  Just like if you are a vegan or vegetarian, or any other lifestyle that is out of the mainstream, it can be confusing.  Why exactly is it confusing?  You are a good parent and you do your best and often above and beyond.  Even if you are not religious the proverb  "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it”  Can pretty much sum you up. 

The reason is:  In reality, you can really only guide your children in the way you’d like them to go.  They need to make their own decisions based on their own personal likes, wants, needs and feelings.  They are little people.  Little people you love very, very much.  Their unique personalities often make us love the more!

So, if you are religious and teach your children your beliefs and to live them and they go to school or simply outside of your home it is very likely they are going to see something you told them that goes against your family religion.  Something you don’t believe in, something that completely goes against your morals.  Your family could very much support the welfare of animals and make a conscious effort to never consume any animal products.  

Your child could have a baby sitter or a teacher or a very, very best friend that eats meat or views religion differently.  Now, they have to decide who is right.  Often, they have to find a balance.  They have to figure it out for themselves.  And, such is life.  We all do it every day. 


Depending on the situation or the child or both, it can be an overwhelming process.  
 What we aim to do with this program is to help your child to deal with these things to the best of their abilities.  

We want to help them to know their own voice and have it be the strongest voice in their head.  

That they may know their own worth. 

That they be strong enough to make the hard decisions.

 Or, at least the decisions that are hard for them.  

HOW?  Great question  


Guided Imagery Hypnosis.  


This is a very gentle process that works with the subconscious mind to alter beliefs and make positive change.  This program will provide you with a transcript of every session so you will know exactly what we are saying and our intention behind it.  Hypnosis can be a very scary word unless you understand exactly what it means.  Basically, it is a slower level of brain wave activity.  It’s a relaxed state in between being fully awake and alert and right before drifting off to sleep.  

There are 4 levels of measurable brain waves:

Beta - is your fastest, fully alert state
Alpha - a relaxed and reflecting state.  You are still alert - this is your brain waves in a hypnotic state
Theta - the beginning of sleep
Delta - Sleeping.  

Hypnosis is the Alpha state.  We are all in all these states through our day in a 24 hour period.  Alpha is common when we are reading a book, working at a computer, driving long distances or playing video games.  We are focused on what we are doing, often doing it mindlessly, yet we are still alert to the things around us.  When you are playing video games or watching someone play video games you can be quite engaged but you will still hear the phone ring or a crying baby.  

Alpha is a creative state and normal for a child to be in often when they are playing alone.  

When you are in an Alpha state, or a state of hypnosis, you are up to 200 times more suggestible.  So, essentially, hypnosis gets you relaxed and makes positive suggestions to you in order to assist you in making positive changes.  We have chosen to use guided imagery to relax the body and the your mind to gently bring you into the hypnotic state.  

Relaxation is such a wonderfully important thing.  Do it whenever you can. You may find you and/or your child in a deeper state when you use this program.  You my fall asleep.  That is OK. It still works!

Hypnosis works through you subconscious mind. Your subconscious controls many functions of your body you rarely think about like breathing.  It also has the power to make changes in your life.  We speak to the subconscious directly and ask it to make changes.  It knows exactly how to make the changes in the very best way for you.  Trust it.  It makes sure you always take your next breath.  It means you absolutely no harm.  We actually want to let go of conscious thought during hypnosis and allow your subconscious to do the work.  Let go of what you’ve been trying to do and allow your subconscious to simply do.


Children fall into hypnosis very easily, usually much more easily then adults. 

We are going to offer the right suggestions to hopefully facilitate the best changes.  Or, if change isn’t necessary, to re-enforce the good.

Hypnosis can not change  thoughts.  What hypnosis can do is change  beliefs.  It’s our intent to help you, through hypnosis, to believe in yourself and your ability to bring about your desired change.  

We know anxiety is a very big issue. It’s not just an issue for children.  It’s an issue for many of us.  We’d like to address that first.   We will do this in two different ways: 

What a guided imagery session does is  help your child relax their body and their mind. They will listen to directions that are tactfully hidden in a story that is written in metaphors.  The subconscious works really well with metaphor.  The best teachers use metaphors or “parables” to teach.  It helps the individual person understand the concept that is being taught in their own way.  This is also a great way to make a child comfortable.  We want this to be a loving and positive experience for them.   Something they will look forward to.

The first recording 
will simply help your child to relax and hopefully sleep. 

This is different for every child.  We suggest you play this recording as your child goes off to sleep.  You can actually lay with them and listen and enjoy as well.

The second recording 

is a subliminal recording that is written more directly.  There is background music that is used throughout this program so it will provide continuity to the listener. When they hear it they will immediately relax.  This can be played as your child is sleeping.  This particular session will help them to deal with the stress of every day life giving them alternatives.  It’s not written in metaphor since they aren’t consciously listening to it.  Their subconscious is listening to the underlying message and will even listen while they body and conscious mind is asleep.  This was written as a subliminal but I include a regular voice recording too.  You know what will work best for your child. 

The third recording is about confidence. 

 This stresses exactly who we are as individuals and how we are all unique.  It teaches us to accept ourselves and others as we are.  And, how we are all good and even great and it’s our differences that are our strengths. We can all be better people by working together and helping each other grow and make the world a better place to live in.  This is written in a metaphor/story to hopefully speak to everyone.

The fourth recording is a subliminal recording that works with confidence. 

  It stresses, in strait forward language, peace, self respect and to respect others.  It strives to find universal understanding that’s it’s what we have in common that we can stress to bring about peace. 

This was written as a subliminal but I include a regular voice recording too.  You know what will work best for your child.  



The fifth recording is about respecting our bodies.

  To lovingly take care of ourselves. Brush our teeth, take a bath or shower, wash our hands at the appropriate times.  Take pride in how you look.  This stresses broad concepts not any sort of recommended practices. That’s for each parent to decide  based on need and personal belief.  But, part of self confidence is putting forth a well cared for package. Encouraging each of us to brush our hair and put on clean clothes and smile.  We are all people to be proud of inside and out.  This is delivered in plain talk as a story.

The sixth recording is about good touches and bad touches.  

It stresses that our bodies are sacred and there are parts of our bodies that are only touched by ourselves, our parents to help us clean or take care of ourselves and our doctors when our parent is with us.  We greatly respect that which makes us girls and boys and just as we don’t like it if someone tries, or touches us in those places we never touch anyone else in those places either.   No always means no. We can say no anytime we want and if anyone says no to us, we listen right away and stop whatever we were doing.

As with all recordings, this one especially, we recommend you read the transcripts and decide what to say to your children about them.  We encourage you to listen with your child the first time.  Since they will be in a hypnotic state - relaxed and very open - they will most likely take the information as fact.

Recording 7 is about movement.

 It’s not about exercise, rather movement, to encourage moving around and finding exercise that works for the individual.  It brings in confidence to do what you really want to do.

Recording 8 is about healthy eating habits.  

This is completely subliminal.  It is the intention of all the sections of this entire program to work together and balance.  Weight is a very prominent issue in society as a whole and it’s not or intention to cause additional stress in your child’s life.  This a recording you can play every single night while they are sleeping if you want.  The power of hypnosis and the subconscious mind is just that incredible.  

In this recording we will stress eating when we are hungry and stopping when we are full.  One of the major factors we’ve observed is that treats are seen as a reward or a comfort.  We also see many parents trying to control their children’s eating habits.  We ask that parents work with their children, especially if they are overweight to provide healthy foods for them to eat when hunger strikes and not saying when they can or can not eat (within reason, obviously, Church or similar places are inappropriate.) 

We’d also like to discourage the clean plate club.

We stress good choices for food and in encourage you to have what you, as your child’s parent, deem good choices available, in abundance.  We’d like your child to know that if they choose not to eat NOW because they are not hungry, then the food will still be there for them later.

The ninth recording is about bullying.  


It was the intent of having a complete program that we can address core issues.  One of the biggest contributors to bullying is a lack of self worth.  By instilling self confidence it should also contribute to a sense of self worth.  We don’t have to bring others down in order to raise ourselves up.  We all have to learn to raise ourselves up and let’s start that when our children are young!  Self worth is something that must come from within.  Each individual must know who they are and what they have to offer is of great value.  By raising children that value themselves it’s with great hope that they will also find the value in others.

The tenth recording is to simply make each child rise above and soar to new heights every day. 

 It takes everything and puts it together to empower your child to be the best they can be.  We will help them to imagine in their minds accomplishing anything they want to accomplish!  It will teach them how to visualize this on their own so the recording will help them with any goal they set out to achieve.

A great deal of study has been done on subliminal messages.  They do work.  Often there are perceived negative subliminal messages all around us.  These, are positive!

Some of these recordings you may only have to use for a few weeks to get the long lasting desired effect.  You may simply realize your child’s got it!  But, since they are subliminals, there is nothing wrong with re-enforcing good habits!

Kids's Motion Sickness

I had a request for this one.  The kids are on a travel soccer team and driving became a  projectile vomiting nightmare.  This recording includes the relaxation introduction with a hypnosis session to make riding in cars easier.  

For best results, play it every night for at least a week as your child goes to sleep.  Then, when they are riding in a car they can listen to it with headphones if needed.  

DO NOT play it on the car stereo.  It will put you to sleep! 




Confidence Through the Rain

I recently made this recording for my kids.  It's an hour of rain sounds. My son loves to go to sleep to the sound of rain.  He's a tough one to relax and put to sleep so I jumped at the idea.  

What I've done is create a vocal track under the rain encouraging the best in both my boys.  I mixed the recording as a subliminal and I put it on a loop on their ipods.  They don't use ear buds.  They have our old iPhones so they listen to them on their pillow's.

Basically, I encourage them to be kind.  I encourage them to take responsibility for themselves and those around them being mindful of what's going on around them.  I encourage them to be active.  (my 4 year old did talk about running a 5K today even though that's a goal for my 7 year old and I over the summer it won't hurt)  I encourage them to run or walk as a way to clear their minds and find other things to do outside.  They would sit behind the computer all day if I let them!

I encourage then to be friendly and value friendship and the best way to be get friends is to be a friend.  Usually my oldest complains of his lack of friends.  Today he spoke of interesting recess happenings.  

I thought about this a lot.  Like, can I use hypnosis techniques on my kids?  I decided I can.  It's a great tool to instill confidence in them and give them basics.  The truth is, they will still have to live the knowledge and practice the lessons.
